and I'm making a world tour with my wife Trudy and we've driven all around the world in a 1915 Model T Ford It's really rather amazing that a car which is almost 100 years old can do a trip like this.
Around the World in a 1915 Model T Ford My wife and me had the idea to make a long trip We couldn't make a decision (where) ... so we said to each other ...
let's do the whole world! Our world tour started here in the village where we live in 2012 and then all the way down to South Africa, Cape Town It was a big, big adventure.
We didn't plan much we only planned that we had to go from North to South We'd see what the day would bring us. There's a lot of desert .... Egypt is a lot of desert ... Sudan is only desert ...
It was amazing ... we weren't only driving on paved roads but also driving on the unpaved roads. It even has wooden spoked wheels That trip took 180 days and we covered 22,000 km
The next leg of our tour was in 2013 through the United States and Canada that trip was about 28,000 km With (only) one flat tyre ... and one broken alternator.
That's it! and it's very nice to travel with a model T through the United States. Everyone knows the Model T. The most amazing thing was meeting people who also love the Model T.
Really awesome! Next was South America. Amazing to travel from North to South ... in an open Model T Colombia Ecuador

The model T is the only car that can make a world tour like we do because it's a simple car ... ... strong ... it's flexible ... it's reliable ... it's very easy to work on it.
you don't need to be an engineer ... you can repair it by yourself. A lot of people say you are crazy .. [ Laughs ] Why do you do that? But it gives us a lot of attention ...
and we need the attention because ... we make this trip to collect money for orphaned children worldwide. Next stop New Zealand, Australia and Asia In 2014 Trudy and Dirk returned to Europe on a trip to Belgium the Model T was hit by a truck on the motorway
Luckily Trudy and Dirk escaped the crash with minor injuries The model T was wrecked with major damage to the front and rear axles So will the Model T world tour continue ...? I'm very proud of my model T ... ... and proud of my wife and I'm proud of my Model T because ...
